Dennis Trudeau is a Canadian broadcaster based in Montreal. From 1987 to 2005 he was the anchor of the supper hour local news show on CBMT in Montreal. He is now an independent journalist with Dennis Trudeau Communications Incorporated and works as a contract master of ceremonies, moderator, discussion leader or facilitator. ==Career== After graduating from the University of Ottawa Trudeau worked with the CBC from 1979. For eight years he hosted the local show ''Daybreak'' on CBM before becoming a national radio host fronting ''As It Happens'' and ''Cross-Country Checkup'' during the 1980s. His journalism career dates back to the 1970s as a print reporter covering Quebec politics for the ''Montreal Gazette'' and the defunct ''Montreal Star''. During Trudeau's career at the CBC, he covered such stories as the funeral of Pierre Elliott Trudeau (no relation), the 1995 Quebec referendum, and the 1989 École Polytechnique Massacre. Trudeau defended ''À la hauteur de Grand Central Station, je me suis assise et j'ai pleuré'' by Elizabeth Smart, the French version of ''By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept'', in the French version of ''Canada Reads'' (''Le combat des livres''), broadcast on Radio-Canada in 2005.
